How is the cat staircase attached to the balcony, for example?
The cat ladder only needs to be attached to at least two points at the top, which should be about 60 cm apart. On most balcony railings, the ladder simply needs to be tied. No tools are required.
In the case of a window sill without fastening options, you can use balcony clamps or swing hooks, for example.

What material is the cat staircase made of? Is it weatherproof?
The cat ladder is made of plastic sheets with crossbars (for better grip of the cats on the ladder). The plastic sheets (PC=polycarbonate made of recycled plastic) are permanently weather-resistant even without paint. The material is manufactured by a factory in Baden-Württemberg. After use, the material can be returned to the plastic recycling system.

Is the cat ladder a structural modification?
Can landlords prohibit the folding cat ladder?
Since the folding cat ladder is only tied down and not firmly anchored to the building with tools, in my opinion there is no structural change and a ban by the landlord or co-owner is probably legally on shaky ground. However, practice has shown that an informal agreement afterwards is often not in favor of the folding cat ladder. It is a good idea to talk to all parties involved and reach an agreement before installing the folding cat ladder.
How do I get my cat used to the cat staircase?
The cats usually like to go to the top step. From there, they can see through the holes that they can get down and soon make their way down step by step. Dangerous jumps are not necessary. The ladder is accepted by almost all cats. However, it can take a few weeks before they get the hang of it.
More cautious cats can get used to the cat ladder more easily by first hanging it up in the home. Indoors, acclimatization is less stressful because cats feel safe in their protected home.
It is also helpful to temporarily serve the cats food on the top step of the cat ladder. Then they get used to the "thing" and associate it with something positive. Once they are on the top step, the treats can be placed a little lower on the ladder, step by step.
A vertical scent trail has also helped with some particularly skeptical cats.

Up to what height does the folding cat ladder work?
The folding trolley ladder is suitable for lengths of up to 7.5 m for technical reasons (too much weight). If you can attach two ladders separately suspended one below the other, longer distances are also possible.

But how, with an apartment on the 1st floor, if a permanently installed cat ladder has been prohibited and the cat has been banned from staircase by the landlords. An idea was needed...

Is the cat staircase storm-proof?
During the orkan "Jonathan" I did not pull in my cat ladder for testing. Although the storm had thrown large flower pots and our garden furniture on the roof terrace into disarray, the cat ladder hung rigid and stiff as if nothing had happened. Maybe it's because I found a particularly lucky spot for the cat ladder or the cat ladder is in good shape to brave the wind. So far, I haven't heard anything negative from customers regarding wind problems with the cat ladder either. It is best to hang the cat staircase as protected as possible and then observe how it behaves in wind and weather. Since you as a buyer are responsible for damage, I recommend all customers to pull in the folding cat ladder in case of doubt.

Are the ropes included with the cat ladder?
Yes, 2 suspension ropes and 2 pulley ropes are included. The ropes are cut to the length of the cat stairs. They are high quality ropes made of polypropylene.
Is my cat too big, heavy or round for the cat ladder?
From the friendly owner of 2 Maine Coon males I got the feedback that the size of the ladder and the holes were not a problem for her cats. Both cats now use the cat stairs on a daily basis. The large holes have a circumference of approx. 62.8 cm. If you feel like it, you can compare this number with the waist circumference of your cat.
How do you calculate the required length of the cat ladder?
For the most part, the cat ladder consists of the sloping plates and the approx. 1 m long retaining ropes at the top. The retaining ropes are used to adjust the height and tie the ladder to the top. When ordering the Faltkatzenleiter, the retaining ropes are not included in the length specification. Only the part with the slanted plates counts.
To measure the required length, you can, for example, lower a heavy object on a rope and then measure the length of the rope needed.
Can more than one cat use the ladder at the same time?
In the meantime, we have sold the folding cat ladder to many owners of several furry noses. It seems to work very well.
